Pilipinas: A Paradise to Uncover

The Philippines --- officially known as Republic of the Philippines --- is a country in Southeast Asia seated in the western Pacific ocean. It has an archipelago of 7,107 islands. Most of the mountainous islands are covered by tropical rainforest and volcanic origin. Not only that, it also offers wonderful and world-class beaches, waterfalls, Riversides and other forms of bodies of water. La Islas Filipinas is the former name which was given by the Spaniards long time ago. Using such name would mean to cover all the islands of the archipelago. The official name of the Philippines has changed several times in the course of the country's history. Actually, the name Philippines is derived from that of King Philip II of Spain. Spain had colonized Philippines in centuries. They had influenced this place fully. Henceforth , the rich culture and tradition of this country showcased a mixture of westernized practices. Philippine languages has also some imprints of Spanish language like aparador, tinidor, la misa, and etc.
